IBIZA ROCKS 2009

Since 2005 this live Indie rock festival has aimed to bring the most innovative and popular bands of the moment: Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs, Kasabian, The Fratellis, The View, The Enemy, The Wombats, The Streets, The Zutons, The Editors, Maximo Park, We Are Scientists, Soulwax or Pendulum, to name but a handful.

The bands which will take the stage of Ibiza Rocks 2009 between 16 June and 8 September are along the same lines: Keane, The Ting Tings, Frankmusik, Friendly Fires, Kissy Sell Out, Groove Armada, Pendulum, South Central, Soulwax, Burn the Negative, The Kooks, Klaxons, The Enemy, Vampire Weekend, MGMT and Dizzee Rascal .

The honour of inaugurating Ibiza Rocks this year falls to White and De Martino, belting out modern rage and punk. Following a dispute with the music industry they renewed themselves under the name The Ting Tings in order to demonstrate that it is possible to be extreme and underground at the same time as being successful and earning money. ‘Great DJ’ or ‘Shut up and let me go’ will be just some of the hits that will be played on the 16^th June to greet this new edition. They will be in the excellent company of Frankmusik as support band and one of the world’s top radio DJs of the moment will be presenting, none other than Radio 1’s Zane Lowe.

Keeping the power on full, from Herefordshire, on Tuesday 23^rd June the special guests sound something like indie fusion with post-punk pop, no less. They are Friendly Fires, one of this seasons great revelation bands, who what’s more will be supporting one the great bands of Brit-pop this summer, none other than Blur. For 7^th July, eccentric electro productions from the hands of Kissy Sell Out.

The ‘main course’, as it were, of the programme arrives from East Sussex. On 14^th July the lads from KEANE, the band led by Tom Chaplin, will also play live at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel in San Antonio.

Groove Armada will bring their electronic magic and fascinating beats. They’re not new on the island, but despite being known here already, the duo formed by Andy Cato and Tom Findlay, majestic producers, admired for their great remixes, have promised a tremendous live set for 21^st July.

To introduce Pendulum, the following 28^th July, the organisation has confirmed the electro punk sounds created by South Central as a luxury support band.

Rock and electro go hand in hand thanks to the novel creativity of one of the favourites of fans of new, high quality electronic music. From Belgium, the Dewale brothers, by the artistic name of Soulwax, are set to break the mould on the following 1^st September. As a support band in order to set off the month of September on the right foot, another of the moment’s most promising groups, Burn the negative.

What’s more, completing the list of participants in the festival we find such names as The Kooks, Klaxons, The Enemy, Vampire Weekend, MGMT and Dizzee Rascal.

All the concerts will take place in the Hotel Ibiza Rocks (San Antonio).

Des de 2005 aquest festival de música en directe indie ha apostat per bandes punteres del moment: Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs, Kasabian, The Fratellis, The View, The Enemy, The Wombats, The Streets, The Zutons, The Editors, Maximo Park, We Are Scientists, Soulwax o Pendulum.

Les bandes que pujaran a l’escenari d’Ibiza Rocks 2009 entre el 16 de juny i el 8 de setembre estan en la mateixa línia: Keane, The Ting Tings, Frankmusik, Friendly Fires, Kissy Sell Out, Groove Armada, Pendulum, South Central, Soulwax, Burn the Negative, The Kooks, Klaxons, The Enemy, Vampire Weekend, MGMT i Dizzee Rascal .

La inauguració d’Ibiza Rocks el correspon a White y De Martino, dilapidant ràbia moderna i punk. Després d’un contratemps moral amb la industria musical es renovaren sota el nom de The Ting Tings per tal de demostrar que es pot ser extrem i underground a l’hora que es té èxit i es guanya pasta. ‘Great Dj’ o ‘Shut up and let me go’ seran només alguns dels hits que sonaran el 16 de juny per a donar la benvenguda a aquesta nova edició. Acompanyant-les estaran Frankmusik com a teloners i un dels top deejays del moment, des de Radio 1, Zane Lowe.

Sense perdre les forces i des de Herefordshire, el dimarts, 23 de juny els convidats d’excepció sonen a fusió indie amb post-punk pop, ni més ni manco. Són Friendly Fires, un dels grups revelació de la temporada que a més, telonejaran a uns dels grans de l’escena britànica com son Blur, aquest estiu. Pel 7 de juliol, excèntriques produccions electro de la mà de Kissy Sell Out.

El plat fort de la programació arriba des de East Sussex. El 14 de juliol els al·lots de KEANE, la banda liderada por Tom Chaplin, actuarà també en directe en el Hotel Ibiza Rocks de Sant Antoni.

Groove Armada portarà la seua màgia electrònica i els seus fascinants beats. No són nou a l’illa tot i que el duo format per Andy Cato i Tom Findlay, magistrals productors, admirats pels seus grandiosos remixes, prometen un directe apoteòsic per al 21 de juliol.

Per a introduir a Pendulum, el pròxim 28 de juliol, l’organització confirma sons electro punk de la mà de South Central com a teloners de luxe.

El rock i l’electro van de la mà gràcies al bon quefer d’un dels grups mimats dels amants de la música electrònica nova i de qualitat. Des de Bèlgica, els germans Dewale, sota el nom artístic de Soulwax, disposat a trencat motllos el pròxim 1 de setembre. Com a teloners per a començar amb bon peu el mes de setembre, un altre dels grups que més prometen de l’actualitat, Burn the Negative.

A més, completen el cartell del festival The Kooks, Klaxons, The Enemy, Vampire Weekend, MGMT i Dizzee Rascal.

Tots els concerts són a l’Hotel Ibiza Rocks (Sant Antoni).

Desde 2005 este festival de música en directo indie ha apostado por bandas punteras del momento: Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs, Kasabian, The Fratellis, The View, The Enemy, The Wombats, The Streets, The Zutons, The Editors, Maximo Park, We Are Scientists, Soulwax o Pendulum.

Las bandas que subirán al escenario de Ibiza Rocks 2009 entre el 16 de junio y el 8 de septiembre están en la misma línea: Keane, The Ting Tings, Frankmusik, Friendly Fires, Kissy Sell Out, Groove Armada, Pendulum, South Central, Soulwax, Burn the Negative, The Kooks, Klaxons, The Enemy, Vampire Weekend, MGMT y Dizzee Rascal .

La inauguración de Ibiza Rocks le corresponde a White y De Martino, derrochando rabia moderna y punk. Tras un percance moral con la industria musical se renovaron bajo el nombre de The Ting Tings para demostrar que se puede ser extremo y underground a la vez que se tiene éxito y se gana pasta. ‘Great Dj’ o ‘Shut up and let me go’ serán solo algunos de los hits que sonarán el 16 de junio para dar la bienvenida esta nueva edición. Acompañándoles estarán Frankmusik como teloneros y uno de los top deejays del momento, desde Radio 1, Zane Lowe.

Sin perder las fuerzas y desde Herefordshire, el martes 23 de junio los invitados de excepción suenan a fusión indie con post-punk pop, ni más ni menos. Son Friendly Fires, uno de los grupos revelación de la temporada que además, telonearán a unos de los grandes de la escena británica como son Blur, este verano. Para el 7 de julio, excéntricas producciones electro de la mano de Kissy Sell Out.

El rock y el electro van de la mano gracias al buen hacer de uno de los grupos mimados de los amantes de la música electrónica novedosa y de calidad. Desde Bélgica, los hermanos Dewale, bajo el nombre artístico de Soulwax, dispuestos a romper moldes el próximo 1 de septiembre. Como teloneros para empezar con buen pie el mes de septiembre, otro de los grupos que más prometen de la actualidad, Burn the Negative.

Además, completan el cartel del festival The Kooks, Klaxons, The Enemy, Vampire Weekend, MGMT y Dizzee Rascal.
