Sexual fantasies serve many and varied necessities. In general they tend to complete an unsatisfied need, which when satisfied, negates the need for that particular fantasy. They are necessary and gratifying allies. Some people use fantasies to separate themselves from their real sexual partner during intercourse, in their heads they’re with somebody else. Others use them to get out of the routine of the sexual encounter, including their partner or not in their imaginings. Others, on the other hand, use them to do with their mind what they wouldn’t do with their bodies. Finally, there are those who simply use them to enrich the sexual experience.

Women, in general, like it to be more than just one night but rather a whole weekend; they like to include toys; a good dose of tenderness, even if it’s not love; a comfortable, suggestive or glamorous setting. Men, on the other hand, put more emphasis on losing inhibitions than on the number of times intercourse takes place in a night. They prefer to imagine scenes of oral sex; kinky fancy dress; trios; different settings (such as lifts, cars, beaches, etc…).
