CYCLO-TOURIST TOUR OF IBIZA AND FORMENTERA 2008

The 7th Edition of the Ibiza and Formentera Tour will take place in october 2008. It’s been already seven years since they came up with the idea of organizing a little meeting of bicycle lovers in the island of Ibiza.
At the beginning of this 7th edition the organization can proudly assure that this small Tour has grown through the years and is now the most important non-competitive stage race in our country.
It is true that the island of Ibiza, with its extraordinary routes, its spectacular landscapes, incredible spots and fine sand beaches and crystal waters have contributed not only to the outstanding success of this Tour, but also to the both national and international renown of the island of Ibiza, as one of the best places in the world to practice cycling.

PROGRAM FOR PARTICIPANTS

Friday 10th
• 17:00>20:00 – Handing over of numbers at the Ibizasport office.
• 18:00>19:00 – Handing over of "Test Campagnolo" bycicles at the Ibizasport office.
• 19:30>20:30 – Informative briefing at the Blau Park Hotel lounge.

Saturday 11th
• 08:00>08:30 – Handing over of numbers at the Ibizasport office.
• 08:30 – Signatures control.
• 09:00 – Start of the 1st stage from "Es Passeig de S’es Fonts" (Portinatx timed stretch)
• 13:30>14:00 – Arrival 1st stage in "Es Passeig de S’es Fonts".
• 13:30>14:00 – Start 2nd part of the stage.
• 15:00 – Arrival 2nd part of the stage.
• 17:00>18:00 – Handing over of "Test Campagnolo" bycicles at the Ibizasport office.
• 18:00>20:00 – Conference about current issues in cycling with the attendance of Miguel Indurain and Abraham Olano.

Sunday 12th
• 08:30 – Signatures control.
• 09:00 – Start of the 2nd stage from "Es Passeig de S’es Fonts".
• 13:30>14:00 – Arrival 2nd stage in "Es Passeig de S’es Fonts".
• 16:00>17:00 – Handing over of "Test Campagnolo" bycicles at the Ibizasport office.
• 17:00 – Conference "General Mechanics" and "Latest News Campagnolo 2008".
• 18:30 – Boat trip to see San Antonio’s famous sunset.
• 21:00 – Dinner and awards ceremony.

Monday 13th
• 08:30 – Signatures control.
• 09:00 – Start of the 3rd stage from "Es Passeig de S’es Fonts".
• 13:30>14:00 – Arrival 3rd stage in "Es Passeig de S’es Fonts".
• 13:30>14:00 – Bicycle reclaim at the finishing line (Campagnolo van)
• 14:00 – Goodbye barbecue.

PROGRAM FOR GUESTS

Saturday 11th

• 09:00 – Start of the 1st stage from "Es Passeig de S’es Fonts".
• 09:15 – Guided bus tour to "Las Dalias" street market.
• 13:30 – Return to Sant Antoni by bus.

Sunday 12th

• 09:00 – Start of the 2nd stage from "Es Passeig De S’es Fonts".
• 09:15 – Boat trip around the north part of the island.
• 13:30 – Arrival in Sant Antoni.

Monday 13th

• 09:00 – Start of the 3rd stage from "Es Passeig De S’es Fonts".
• 09:15 – Low level guided tour around Atalaya de Sant Antoni, Cova de Ses Llagostes, Sant Antoni’s church and Sa Punta des Molí.
• 13:00:00 – Arrival in San Antonio.
