IBIZA, HORMONES AND SEX

You can surely imagine the result of these factors…  Many people believe that it is exclusively a question of hormones that make them behave differently when they arrive on holiday on the island, but it’s a commonly recognised fact: in summer, in Ibiza, the libido of men and women alike increases, as shown in survey after survey, the number of sexual encounters also increases.

Testosterone, serotonin, endorphin and pheromones are some of the hormones responsible for this…

Even though we recommend you to give in to these urges with abandon and enjoy the holiday season as well as the absence of work-related stress, it is important not to forget our health, nor that of our sexual partners and take precautions,  thus avoiding unpleasant surprises at the end of the holiday.
The hormones brought into play during sex are many: testosterone, the best known male hormone, stimulates lust and reaches maximum levels at the end of summer.  This hormone reacts to the stimuli of light, which explains, among other reasons, the increase in sexual desire during the summer period on the island.
Serotonin and endorphin are hormones which create the sensation of pleasure.  Their levels increase due to various stimuli: nourishment, physical exercise or light.  They are inversely proportional to depression and the lack of sexual stimulation.
Pheromones are responsible for the attraction that occurs between two people.  According to diverse investigations, people with a greater secretion of pheromones feel a stronger sexual attraction and sexual encounters are more intense and pleasurable.
All hormones are positively affected by the sun and good weather, so we can safely say that, during the summer months in Ibiza, sexual desire is heightened noticeably.
