El día de San Ciriaco celebramos la llegada de las tropas catalanas para conquistar la isla, ocupada por los musulmanes desde hacía siglos. Ocurrió en 1.235 y fue comandada por Gillem de Montgrí, arzobispo de Tarragona, junto a Pere de Portugal i Nuno Sanç, conde de Rosselló. La leyenda cuenta que la caída de la villa, en apariencia con mucha facilidad, fue causada por la traición de un hermano del jeque moro, como venganza por haberle robado este último su esposa…

When this time of year rolls around there is always plenty of sun-toasted, salty-wet naked skin on view. Are you a sucker for the beaches and bays? Are you turned on by the sculptural figures to be seen sunbathing? Maybe by the sea breeze? Do you go to the beach at night? Do you go alone or in good company? The island has so many quiet corners, each with a special charm. A perfect place to get rid of the stress of working life and take a breath of fresh air and also (why not) to go naked on any of the nudist beaches. Even if we don’t have ‘Baywatch’ bodies, it’s a recommendable and gratifying 
experience.
L’afició esportiva de l’illa, especialment els apassionats pel futbol, compten els dies que falten per a la gran festa d’aquest esport, en la divisió de bronze del futbol espanyol. El calendari del grup 3, de 2 B ha enfrontat a la SD Eivissa i a la Penya Esportiva Santa Eulària en la tercera data, això és el 14 de setembre de 2008.
