2500 SPECTATORS TURNED UP FOR THE INAUGURATION OF THE 2ND INTERNATIONAL BASE FOO

FROM 1ST TO 4TH MAY
PLACE: SAN ANTONIO AND SAN RAFAEL FOOTBALL GROUNDS
With San Antonio’s football ground overflowing, around 2500 spectators turned up for the inauguration of the 2nd International Base Football Championship, in which, in a friendly game, the schoolboys of F.C.Barcelona beat the Ibiza team by 5-0.
It was an exciting game without a doubt, which the fans applauded, eventhough the visitors’ superiority was evident, the locals never gave up or lost their shape.

Due to connections with the Denia ferry, the parade and inaugural ceremony was somewhat delayed.  After a presentation of syncronised gymnastics by the ‘Club Gimnasia Rítmica Portmany’, the Mayor of San Antonio, José Sala, welcomed all the visiting teams and praised the organisers.

Officially, the competition starts today in San Antonio and San Rafael football grounds.
